San Juan, Puerto Rico – The Olga Iglesias Project (OIP) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a generous $10,000 grant from the Ángel Ramos Foundation. These funds will allow the educational opera La Batalla de los Clásicos to reach its highly anticipated premiere and be performed in schools across the island, providing students with a unique opportunity to experience Puerto Rico’s classical music heritage firsthand.
The grant is part of the Inversión 360º program of the Ángel Ramos Foundation, which supports initiatives in education, arts, culture, and social well-being with the goal of improving social mobility in Puerto Rico. Thanks to this funding, OIP will be able to bring students and communities closer to the world of opera through this innovative production.
“We are deeply grateful to the Ángel Ramos Foundation for their trust and support of our mission,” said Anthony Cheney Guzmán, Founder and Executive Director of OIP. “With this support, we can bring La Batalla de los Clásicos to schools, allowing more students to discover the richness of Puerto Rican classical music and actively engage with its history and legacy.”
Since its founding in 2020, the Olga Iglesias Project has worked tirelessly to promote the work of Puerto Rican soprano Olga Iglesias and to support the next generation of classical singers. With this initiative, OIP expands its impact on music education, bringing high-quality productions to young audiences across the island.
