ANNETTE URSO RICKEL FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANT TO OLGA IGLESIAS PROJECT FOR THE FOURTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

San Juan, Puerto Rico – The Olga Iglesias Project (OIP) is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a generous $40,000 grant from the Annette Urso Rickel Foundation for the 2024-2025 year. This marks the fourth consecutive year of support from the foundation, with a steadily increasing commitment—starting with $2,500 in the first year, $7,500 in the second, and $15,000 in the third.

The funding from the Annette Urso Rickel Foundation directly supports financial aid and professional training for the talented fellows of the Olga Iglesias Fellowship Program. This initiative is dedicated to nurturing young artists in their artistic and professional development within Puerto Rico’s classical music scene.

“The renewal and significant increase in this grant is a true vote of confidence in our mission and the impact we’re making in Puerto Rico’s musical community,” said Anthony Cheney Guzmán, Founder and Executive Director of OIP. “Thanks to this funding, we can continue expanding opportunities and resources for our fellows, strengthening the rich musical legacy of our island. We are deeply grateful to the Annette Urso Rickel Foundation for their continued support and commitment to education and culture.”

Jay Rickel-Finnegan, President of the Annette Urso Rickel Foundation, emphasized the significance of OIP’s work and its role in shaping future artists. “It’s inspiring to see how OIP’s efforts to preserve its personal and cultural history are helping secure the future of Puerto Rican classical music. Our foundation is proud to support initiatives like this, which make a tangible difference in artist development and music education.”

The Annette Urso Rickel Foundation is dedicated to supporting student education through scholarships and grants, funding specialized studies, and fostering educational initiatives that benefit both individuals and nonprofit organizations. Their unwavering commitment to academic and artistic excellence continues to be a cornerstone of their philanthropic mission.
