Christian García
Bio:
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He began his vocal studies at the Escuela Libre de Música de San Juan and later at the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico, where he graduated with honors. In the course of her career, she has participated in the choirs of the Casals Festival and in opera choruses. She made her debut as a soloist with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra in its traditional Epiphany concert in 2012. She has collaborated on several occasions with Opera on the Avalon in St. John’s, Canada, singing in various opera and musical theater productions, such as: “L’enfant et les sortilèges”, “Carousel”, “Sweeney Todd” and in the world premiere of the opera Ours, by composer John Estacio.
In early 2018, his interpretation of the role of Esteban in the world premiere of the Puerto Rican chamber opera Si me ven llorando, by composer Guarionex Morales Matos, stands out. In 2019, she debuted as Spoletta in Giacomo Puccini’s “Tosca” at Florida State. In the 2020 season, he performed Gastone in “La traviata'' and the role of inocente in the zarzuela El Dúo de la Africana with the inaugural team of the local company Teatro Lírico, Inc. In January 2022, Christian assumed the role of Parpignol in the opera “La Bohème”, produced by Culturarte de Puerto Rico. Later, in July, he made his debut as the lead in the premiere of the Cuban opera “Manita en el suelo” by Alejandro García Caturla in New York. In early 2023, he played José, the chaste, in the zarzuela “La corte del Faraón”. Recently, he was featured as tenor soloist in the Symphony “Romeo et Juliette” by Hector Berlioz, with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, in its 2023 season.
