Jehú Otero
Bio:
Puerto Rican tenor Jehú Otero has a master’s degree in vocal performance from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. In 2019 Jehú sang with the Houston Grand Opera the role of Chucho in “El Milagro del Recuerdo”. Jehu also sang the role of Miles Zegner in “Proving Up” by American songwriter Missy Mazzoli. In other performances, he was Tamino in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” with the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music and sang as a soloist in Handel’s “Messiah” with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra. In 2019, while at Rice University, Jehu received the Molly and Jim Crownover Voice Scholarship as well as the Matt Stoner Award. While at the Aspen Music Festival, Jehu also received the Vincent Foundation Scholarship. He also holds a degree in classical guitar and another degree in singing, both from the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico.
