Bring Puerto Rican opera to life in your classroom with La Batalla de los Clásicos!

This captivating 20-minute children’s opera introduces students to the lives and works of Puerto Rico’s most important composers—Juan Morel Campos, Manuel Gregorio Tavárez, and Felipe Gutiérrez y Espinosa.

The program includes a brief charla beforehand to provide historical and musical context, followed by the opera itself, and concludes with a live performance of the composers’ music to bring their legacies to life. With a full runtime of one hour, it’s an immersive educational experience!
