Juan Luis O’Halloran Acevedo

Juan Luis O’Halloran Acevedo began studies at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico in 2015, from which he graduated and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Classical Trumpet Performance in 2021. That same year, he was accepted to continue studies at the University College Dublin School of Music in Ireland, where he coursed studies in Ethnomusicology and Historical Musicology. In 2022 he graduates with first class honors and obtains his Master’s degree in Musicology: Culture and Music. Since 2020, he collaborates alongside Simbiosis Puerto Rico as producer, editor and host of music, culture and history related episodes on the program and podcast, Conversaciones Simbióticas. His areas of interest include Puerto Rican music history, nationalism and music, folk musics, and Puerto Rican band traditions.
